Top of Mind: What is Perfection?

Image
"World of Watts" - Michael R. Muscatello 2020 Top of Mind: What is Perfection? Published on March 12, 2021 Michael Muscatello Founder & Facilitator at AlcheMe Hello again LinkedIn friends. I am going to be sharing today, a "top of mind" article. This is a freestyle, all in one go kind of post. Please enjoy. I wanted to discuss today, a musing that has left me wondering if the questions posed are being posed in the right way. I wonder if the questions at hand have any answer at all. We will begin with this:  Is perfection something that is achievable?  Not in the sense that we or anyone else is capable of creating something "perfect"... I'm not interested in the practical application of perfection (partially because defining it is so hard, as I seek to explore in this post). But in the sense of, is there any such thing as perfection? Is it conceptually possible, regardless of our ability to achieve it? We could begin by talking about units of mea...

Handwritten Letter to the Soul

Dear Soul, I don't want to feel sick anymore.  I am drowning amidst a sea of complexity, arms + legs propelling out  of sync, sinking + gasping  only to swallow water  and flood my lungs. I pray,  reinvigorate me, flow within  these veins and exert harmony. Bring unison. I want to be whole. I want to  go. I want to know.  What is it you beseech of  me? How can I re-invite  you and your beautiful mane,  to bring back purpose to this maze?  -I pray. ...though I may have only turned deaf ear to you as of late, I entreat thee, let not my efforts be in vain. I desire to Be, to be the genie in us, to embody the cohesion between one and one other. Help me write this ship. Be with me in courting the world. Allow not my hard charging devices to fail, flail, and frail me. I ask, show me the we in me. Teach me the respect you desire. Help me to stoke this fire. Let not concepts outside ourselves betray our trust. I am longing for th...

Mystical Skepticism

Idea XCIV (94) - The Book of Good Ideas "Being a skeptic can give way to the most wonderful surprises. Don't you want a reality that is beyond belief?" There are some people out there who would say that skepticism is bad, or harmful to progress, or is simply a dead way of looking at the world. And sure, if one refuses to look outside of their own box, or, better yet refuses to acknowledge they have a box whatsoever, then one might end up with a sort of deadened or blunted response to all stimulus, whether it is novel or not. However, healthy skepticism can give way to the most wonderful surprises. When taken to one extreme, skepticism claims that it knows everything, and throws away anything even related to some- thing that the skeptic deems impossible. At the other extreme, too little skepticism gives rise to a sort of ignorant, wishy-washy creature who is easily taken away by any wind that blows, believing every- thing. The consolidated difference is that one is by way...

Guidelines for Being Good Natured as a Social Animal

Image
Here is an incomplete and entirely sufficient list of mannerisms that one can develop with little to no effort.  The idea of implementing something without effort may seem illogical, however, with appropriate self dialogue and respectful self-requests for opportunity to implement these guidelines, one will find thems elf unavoidably presented with chances to make good on the intention to "be good". Be warned. About nothing in particular, just be warned. Remember, "good" is a highly subjective and rather dodgy term. However, in reading the list, I am sure you will be able to place the usage of the word properly. Dear Reader, without further ado... 1. Get the damn snow off your car before you drive. 2. Never make a younger child, or less capable person feel unwanted at an event or in an activity. 3. Move over when someone is stopped on the shoulder, remembering to check over your own shoulder before you change lanes. 4. If you catch someone's eye and remember to...

Brutally Honest - A Perspective Jaded by Hollow Promise

Image
Hello again. Please, allow me to preface. This is being as pointed as I can (I'm feeling quite pointed over the recent intrusions into my life by do gooders, a concept well studied by Alan Watts.) while still communicating lucidly. My intent is to provoke emotions. Not to the point of one shutting down in rage or personal offense. But to the extent necessary to shuffle the deck. I would recommend everyone play 52 pickup as often as possible. I seek to knock as many cards out of the hands of others as I can, in an attempt to show the fact that we can re-order the deck as we please. If you are bristling at the imposition of such a motivation Dear Reader, why? If I might play the narrator for you a moment, you are at a fork in the road. To the left is frustration, with my self righteous poking and opinion defaming opinions being just that. To the right, is an earnest attempt to Be. To exist. To express what I consider to be a long and rigorously acquired taste for freedom. For faith i...

"The Setup"

Anti-Mission Statement Mission Statement I'm not so into writing a mission statement. I try to keep my thoughts as fluid as I can, hence titling this a "stream of consciousness". This is because I think I would much rather be an idea generator, than a conclusive agenda pusher. Not to say that I won't draw conclusions from time to time, I don't exactly know where this is going. I like to think of this as art, and art is a co-creative process. Co-creative with what? Mmmmmm I dunno. The universe? Our subconscious? With you, Gentle Reader? This is something that I would like to delve into. What exactly do we mean when we reference the universe (Universe)?  Michael Edward Place Father, Founder of Entohack 7G Inspiration This blog is inspired by a young adulthood spent self seeking, and a proclivity for free-thought. These in large part were inspired by my Dad. There's a blurry line between nature and nurture in regards to our commonalities. I will...
